Since 2002 Hauling Pros has operated their own mini recycling facility in an effort to divert more materials from the landfill. We have recently seen a large increase in electronic waste being discarded from our clients. In response, we have found some great pipelines for responsible recycling of these items. As of January 2008 the new facility is open to the public. We are accepting all electronic waste and scrap metal FREE of charge and most major household appliances for a small fee at our Pacheco location. We also host electronic waste collection events around the Bay Area, refer to our BLOG for upcoming events.

Electronic waste (e-waste) is the fastest growing portion of our waste stream. E-waste represents two percent of America's trash in landfills, but it equals 70 percent of overall toxic waste. Americans dispose of two million tons of electronic products a year -- including 50 million computers and 130 million cell phones -- and by 2010, the nation will be discarding 400 million electronic units annually. Sadly, much of the material that is recycled ends up being dismantled in China, poisoning the people and the land.

Hauling Pros offers free pick-up services for quantities of 10 or more TVs or CRTs to our Business and Educational clients.
Computer, Television, Electronics recycling, and disposal is, all too often, an unforeseen cost for many businesses. New laws governing disposal of e-waste coupled with security concerns about the precious data contained in your old equipment can make what would be a simple task quite complicated. Hauling Pros does not re-use any of the computer equipment we collect. ALL hard drives will be crushed in a 30-ton press to Department of Defense standards for destruction of sensitive data. So your information is protected. For a fee, we can provide a certificate of destruction.
